The SouthGate health day took place on Saturday at the shopping centre, with experts in health and fitness on hand to give tips and advice to passers-by.
The event saw young and old alike able to get a wide range of information including on how to pack a healthy lunchbox, choose the best exercise option and give up smoking.

Six people signed up to stop smoking at the morning session with two going straight into Boots and getting prescriptions.
“We have also had information on health trainers where people work on a one-to-one with people in the community to make healthy lifestyle changes.
“We have had great feedback from the public. A lot of people have enjoyed the food on offer and took information such as our Change for Life spinning wheels for the kids.
“A lot of people have found it useful because they didn’t know the services were there or how to access them.”
